With the use of digital tools the aim is to develop enriched energy performance certificates, that will:
- Assess buildings designed and actual energy use;
- Introduce a new rating scale, based on the weighted approach of life cycle performance aspects, building smartness assessment and information on the actual performance of the technical systems of buildings provided by technical audits;
- Expand its scope, covering aspects related to water consumption, as well as noise pollution and acoustics;
- Be fully compatible with digital logbooks, as well as with building renovation passports;
- Apply the energy certification at the neighborhood scale.
Duties
- Work on developing innovative solutions for the SmartLiving EPC project;
- Analyze literature, conduct data analysis and modelling;
- Submit the project deliverables and work on scientific papers;
- Interact and collaborate with other researchers in the project;
- Participate in SmartLiving EPC project events;
- Link research activities to consultancy.
Requirements
- Graduated with an MSc in Building Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, or related disciplines;
- Very good academic writing skills and excellent communication skills;
- Good level of knowledge about concepts related to Energy Performance Certificates;
- Good level of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Digital Twinning technology;
- Familiarity with the key parameters needed for Life Cycle Costing;
- Programming experience in C# and/or Python or similar is a plus;
- You can work in a group as well as on your own initiative;
- You are fluent in English and have good written and spoken communication skills;
- You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity, and cooperation;
- Dutch language proficiency or commitment to reach Dutch proficiency in the short term is a plus.
