The aim is to develop the technical and social means to establish circular practices within the building sector that allows to:
- Maximise the cumulative virtues of a building, a building product, or a building material during its life;
- Establish a transparent track record of these virtues;
- Use this track record to ensure that a building, building product, or building material can be reused at a high quality in an afterlife.
Duties
- Develop the required ontologies to systematically store and manage collected data needed for Circular Potential Information Management (CP_IM);
- Develop BIM models of pilot projects;
- Develop Circular Potential Information Management (CP-IM) technologies;
- Harmonize existing BIM approaches for life-cycle cost (LCC) assessments and waste management practices with existing ontologies;
- Write deliverables and scientific reports;
- Link research ideas to consultancy.
Requirements
- Graduated with an MSc in Architecture, Real Estate, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines;
- Very good academic writing skills and excellent communication skills;
- Good level of knowledge about concepts related to circular building products;
- Good level of knowledge about Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Digital Twinning technology;
- Familiarity with the key parameters needed for circular product assessment through the whole lifespan of an asset;
- Familiarity with different types of circular business models;
- Programming experience in C# and/or Python or similar is a plus;
- Dutch language proficiency or commitment to reach Dutch proficiency in the short term is a plus.
